Category: Music production softwarePrior to gaining acceptance as a viable and legitimate tool for scientific research, biometrics have been used for law enforcement and military applications dating back nearly a century. Law enforcement personnel have used biometric identification, such as fingerprint recognition, for many years. Recently, biometric techniques have gained acceptance for security and identification in commercial banking, information technology, and electronic commerce applications. Biometric information is generally accepted as being secure from tampering, as it is generally not susceptible to imitation. The use of biometric information for security purposes is based on the premise that, when a biometric input device is interacting with a biometric capture device, the interface between the input and capture devices will be unique in every interaction, thereby assuring the biometric information captured from the first interaction is different from the biometric information captured from subsequent interactions. A typical biometric capture device includes a biometric capture device, such as a fingerprint sensor, and a biometric input device, such as a finger of a human subject. In one form of biometric capture device, a sensor is mounted on a board which is then mounted to a surface. The surface may be, for example, a glass window or a door. The sensor is used to capture a print of a fingerprint of a human subject which, typically, includes a number of ridges and valleys of a skin surface of a finger. After a fingerprint is captured, by a sensor, and stored as a biometric template, the biometric template may be applied to a matching system to provide a comparison between the biometric template and a new biometric template obtained from an input device. For example, to obtain a measurement of a fingerprint, such as matching the fingerprint to another captured fingerprint of the same finger, the sensor may be mounted on a surface which may, for example, be part of a larger structure, such as a door. The sensor is used to obtain a print of a fingerprint of a human subject, which print may then be stored as a biometric template. If a new biometric template is obtained from an input device, such as a fingerprint sensor on a smart card, the new biometric template may be compared to the stored 55cdc1ed1c
